Skin Boosters are micro-injections of dermal fillers ((Hyaluronic Acids)  in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, they are not injected beneath the skin to volumize or shape the face. Instead, they are very fine dermal fillers that are injected into the skin to hydrate and improve skin quality.

This type of dermal filler can be injected over large treatment areas of the face, neck, and hands to increase the skin’s hydration quality. During the treatment, the multiple injections activate the fibroblasts promoting new collagen and elastin formation.

With the production of new collagen and elastin, patients can expect firmer and more youthful skin. The skin booster treatment is the gold standard skin hydrator for radiant and glowing skin.

Who can have this treatment? What results can be expected?

This treatment is suitable for all patients who are not pregnant or breastfeeding. It is recommended for patients who want to improve the overall quality and the degree of hydration of their skin.

Benefits of Skin Booster include:

  • Boosting skin hydration
  • Improving skin quality (texture, elasticity and firmness)
  • Lessening the appearance of acne scarring
  • Reducing fine lines
  • Complementing other treatments
  • Improving imperfections of the skin

Patients notice a more dewy and firmer appearance to the skin and more of a ‘glow’ as a result. The skin booster treatment works exceptionally well at enhancing the results of other treatments.

Which type of filler are used in Skin Boosters?

At Dr. Kamil Alrustom Skin and Laser Centre we are using the most effective types of Hyaluronic acid. The dermal fillers that are used in skin booster treatments are non-cross-linked fillers. Therefore, they also produce no lumping in the final result, although there may be some temporary small lumps visible initially after the treatment for few hours.

The fillers are injected into the superficial part of the skin where fibroblasts are housed. Fibroblast stimulation by injection of the filler causes new collagen and elastin formation in the skin. Fillers that are used are also formulated with 14 types of antioxidants and vitamins within the filler to nourish.

What are the potential side effects of injectable hyaluronic acid?

Common side effects for injectable hyaluronic acid include:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Bleeding
  • Lumps and bumps
  • Redness

However, these reactions only last a few days.
