Biography of Dr. Al Rustom
Dr. Kamil Al Rustom graduated from the Faculty of medicine, Damascus University, Syria, in 1979. He specialized from the University of Liege, Belgium in Dermatology, Venereology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Al Rustom was Full time Resident at Baviere Hospital, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Liege, Belgium from 1980 to 1984. He then practiced extensive clinical activity (O.P.D., In-Patient, Theatre Room, Heliotherapy, Lasertherapy, etc.) and participated in clinical training courses in Dermatology for medical students (teaching position) and in the post-graduate teaching program for General Practitioners (teaching position). He also participated in the research program of the Department of Dermatology and parallel personal clinical and experimental research at the Faculty of Medicine.
From 1984 to 1987: Dr. Al Rustom exercised at full consultant level at the University hospitals (Baviera Hospital, and CHU of Sart Tilman) Department of Dermatology, Faculty of medicine, University of Liege. He practiced extensive clinical activity (OPD, In-Patient, theatre room, etc.) and participated in in clinical training courses in Dermatology, Dermatopathology and Dermatosurgery for the residents in Dermatology (teaching position). as well as in the post-graduate teaching program for General Practitioners and Dermatologists (teaching position).
From 1988 to 2003: Dr. Al Rustom was Consultant and Head of the Department of Dermatology at Al Zahra (Pvt.) Hospital, Sharjah, and Al Zahra (Pvt.) Medical Centre, Dubai, UAE. He practicesd extensive OPD activity and he was In-charge of PUVA therapy and narrow band UVB units. His Surgical activity included excision of skin tumors, dermabrasion, hair transplantation, varicose veins surgery, liposuction, etc. He also was In-charge of skin laser therapy unit. He Participated in the post-graduate teaching program at Al Zahra Hospital for Nurses and General Practitioners.
From 2003 to 2013: Dr. Al Rustom was the owner and taking the position of medical director of ‘’Dr.Al Rustom’s medical and day care surgery center’’.
From 2013 till now: Dr. Al Rustom opened a new advanced medical centre (DR KAMIL AL RUSTOM SKIN & LASER CENTRE) where he utilized all his acquired experience, perspectives and know-how and turned it of the epitome of his long, successful hard working years in Europe and UAE.

Dr. Al Rustom has published in peer-reviewed medical journals such as Dermatologica, Journal of applied Cosmetology, European Journal of Dermatology, Emirates Medical Journal, Revue Medicale de Liege, Annales de Dermatologie et Venarologie, Recherche et Dermatologie, and Les Nouvelles Dermatologiques.
